Mashiach Prophecy and Fulfillment

Hebrew Scriptures                                                       New Testament Fulfillment

Mashiach to be born in Bethlehem

Micah 5:2                                                                      Matthew 2:1-6 & Luke 2:1-12

Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be Ruler in Israel; who’s goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. (Micah 5:2) KJV

Now after the birth of Jesus, which took place at Bethlehem in Judaea in the reign of King Herod, excitement was produced in Jerusalem by the arrival of certain Magi from the east. Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, where is He that is born King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the east and are come to worship Him.

Questions:

What Gentile nation would be interested in worshipping the king of another nation?

Could the Magi from the east, be descendants of Daniel (called “greatly beloved of GOD” according to Gabriel, the Angel of the Most High GOD in Daniel chapters 9:23 & 10:11)? In the Book of Daniel, Daniel is one of the four young men taken [exclusively chosen to work in Nebuchadnezzar’s palace business] into captivity from Judah to Babylon among several other young men and others?

Daniel was told by Gabriel, an Angel of the Most High GOD, regarding end time events, but was also told to “shut up the Words and seal the Book” Daniel 12: 4, because the events were far into the future, which the Angel referred to as  “many days”.  Again, in the Book of Daniel chapter 12:8-9, Daniel tried to inquire further regarding visions given to Him, and again, the Angel of the Most High GOD stated: “Go thy way, Daniel, for the Words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Daniel 12:9 (KJV)

Note:  Perhaps this news was passed onto descendants of Daniel, and descendants of the other three Hebrews that accompanied Daniel.  They all were very loyal to the One True and Living God of Judah, they were very wise.  They were in captivity in Babylon, located in the far East.

Read the whole Book of Daniel, with emphasis on chapters 9-12 regarding the above questions and brief review.

Back to Prophecy Regarding Birth of Yahshua

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.  When he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born; and they said unto him, in Bethlehem of Judaea, for thus it is written by the prophet, and thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda, for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.  Matthew 2:1-6) KJV

Questions:

  • What scriptural passage were the priests quoting?  Micah 5:1-2
  • What about King David and Bethelem Ephrathah in Judah? I Samuel 17:12
  • How far back in history is Ephrathah? Genesis 35:19
  • Who was Judah and Ephrathah? Sons of Jacob, whose name was later changed to Israel by YHVH.  Genesis 34-37; Genesis 46 (Jacob’s son Joseph had two sons Manasseh and Ephraim, these two sons of Joseph, also became the sons of Jacob/Israel, hence Ephraim).

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) All went to be taxed, everyone into his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the City of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child).

While they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered; And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

The Angel’s Message to the Shepherds

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the Angel of the LORD came upon them, and the Glory of the LORD shone round about them, and they were sore afraid. And the Angel said unto them, fear not; for, behold, I bring you Good Tidings of Great Joy, which shall be to all people; unto you, is born this day, in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the LORD.

Signs:

This shall be a sign unto you, ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly Host praising GOD, and saying, Glory to GOD in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into Heaven, the shepherds said one to another, let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the LORD has made known unto us;  and they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph and the babe lying in a manger.  Luke 2:1-12 (KJV)

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.  John 3:11-21 (KJV)

The Conclusion: Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
YHVH has spoken in these last days by whom? Hebrews ch. 1
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5 (KJV)
