Seed Sown

Seed Sown

Yahshua Teaches

He spoke many things unto them in parables, saying, behold a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed:

  • Some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up.
  • Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth; and forthwith they sprung up because they had no deepness of earth; and when the sun was up, they were scorched because they had no root, they withered away.

  • Some fell among thorns and the thorns sprung up, and choked them.
  • Other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.  The disciples came, and said unto Him, why speak thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not given. Whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

Therefore, speak I to them in parables, because they seeing see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand; and in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive, for this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear. Verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower

  • When any one hear the Word of the Kingdom, and understand it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

  • He that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that hear the Word, and anon with joy receives it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but endures for a while, for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the Word, by and by he is offended.

  • He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the Word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the Word, and he becomes unfruitful.

  • He that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the Word, and understands, which also bears fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.  Matthew 13:3-23 (KJV)

Note:  The writer of the Book of Hebrews had more to say regarding a certain person, but could not because the hearers were “dull of hearing”.  Hebrews 5:11 (read the whole chapter).   Let us "break up the fallow ground of our heart" and believe and receive the Word of YHVH.

Questios:

What is the “seed”?

Now the parable is this: The Seed is the Word of God.  Luke 8:11 (KJV)

What did Isaiah, the Prophet of YHVH, prophecy?  Isaiah 6:9-10; Isaiah 29:13

Read

  • Ezekiel 33:31-32
  • Hebrews 10:31-39

Note:  The phrase “Who hath ears to hear, let him hear” and similar phrases are stated by Yahshua within the Gospels i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the Book of Revelation.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.  John 3:11-21 (KJV)
