Yahshua Speaks to His Disciples Regarding His Power and their Charge

All Power is given unto me in Heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)

As the cloud received Yahshua from the sight of His disciples (they actually saw Him ascend on the cloud) they were not to idly stand by gazing into the sky.  And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; which also said, ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heavenActs 1:10-11 (KJV)

Questions

  1. How were Yahshua’s disciples to teach all nations without knowing their dialect/tongue; and how were they going to accomplish this great teaching task?

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father, which, said He, ye have heard of me.  John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of Him, saying, LORD, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

He said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His Power, but ye shall receive Power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:4-8) KJV

Wait until you are endowed with Power from on High

Question

What Power from on High?

Wait on the Power of the Holy Spirit from YHVH through whom the disciples would be able to mightily accomplish the task given to them by Yahshua.

The disciples were not to worry or concern themselves with the restoration of Israel (which was the Holy Father’s concern), but to teach what Yahshua had taught them and be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Again, what Power?

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. Also, upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit.

And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Note:

Again, Yahshua’s disciples were not to stand idly by gazing into the sky, awaiting Yahshua’s return (Acts chapter 1:4-11).

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.  John 3:11-21 (KJV)
